All classes will race Saturdays.

Modifieds and Sport Mods will race all Friday night races.

May 8 and 9 - Friday night, May 8th, will have the Hobby Stock and Sport Compacts.

June 12 and 13 WWMT - Friday night, June 12th, will have the Stocks and Hobby Stocks.

July 3 and 4 - Friday, July 3rd, will have the Sport Compacts, Stocks and Sprints.

July 31 and Aug 1 - Friday, July 31, will have Hobby Stock and Sport Compacts.

Sept 25 and 26 the Castle Country Clash - Friday, Sept. 25th, will have the Stocks, Hobby Stock and Sprints.

This will give all classes a minimum 8 IMCA races for the championships.
The Mods, Sport Mods will have 10 races and the Hobby Stock will have 9.
The Trucks may run a Friday or two if they would like and we can schedule it for a slow night.

We have an agreement with IMCA for the grandfathering of rules and the time lines they will last. The good news is if you have a car that ran here at Desert Thunder Raceway in the last 3 years or longer ask and we can fit you in, and still meet the rules. You will be able to race this year and next. It's pretty simple.. otherwise if you are building a new car you need to build it to IMCA specs. The thing you don't want to do is try to mix and match engine combinations. Remember I just said engines. If you add to an existing car you should add IMCA rule dimensions and parts. It's ether all IMCA or all DTR when it comes to engines! and components. In other words no DTR carbs on an IMCA engine, etc. The rules for each class will be IMCA and if there is something allowed outside of that that is covered under the grandfather rule it will be in a seperate notice you will receive. So look at the IMCA rules and work towards them if you are changing your cars from what they were. Also remember you will not be allowed to run at another IMCA track under the DTR grandfathered rules. You must be 100% IMCA legal to do that.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm glad to see so many agree with the way we are headed. Under the new system any racer who really wants to race will be able to without too many excuses. Make sure you get your IMCA licenses early it just makes it easier that way. Remember you will have a National Points Fund that will in most cases if you race all year will more than pay you back for your license cost.
I ask you to work together to promote this system and to have something positive to say when you say it around your towns. Word of mouth is the best and worst advertising we have. So lets use the best by promoting yourselves as racers and performers so that you can be proud to ask someone to come watch you and your friends race.
